Although we do have the modern convenience of GPS on our phone, it took us over an hour to find the local market. Finally, in despair, we stopped at a church and a kind Presbyterian (no joke) left work and had us follow him by car to the local market. You can always count on the Presbyterians, can't you? Although the kids felt sick to their stomachs when they saw fish, pig heads, and rabbits in the butcher section, we did manage to buy some amazing produce and get directions from the Crepe lady to the Carrefour which is a major shopping market.
This afternoon, we visited Parc de Marly and roamed through the grounds imagining life in the 1600s. We were walking through a beautiful row of trees and Bobby said, "Isn't this amazingly beautiful?" and Maddie responded, "It's just trees dad". I am hoping the Eiffel tower tomorrow will bring a more enthusiastic response.
I am proud to say that tonight I made a roasted chicken with lemon for the family and it was good! We ate outside at 8pm and I am starting to think I could definitely get used to this lifestyle. The kids ended the night with Jacob jumping and rolling off the embankment in the back, Maddie videotaping him, and Brooke narrating and singing "Dumb ways to Die". I am thinking the neighbors are glad we won't be here forever:)
You guys are rock stars! Navigating the roads and markets!!
