We Made It!

After over 17 hours of travel including an 11 hour flight to Frankfort, a layover and a 1 hour flight to Paris, an endless walk to find the car in the Charles de Gaulle airport, and FINALLY a 40 minute drive to Marly le Roi---we have arrived and are settling into our new digs.

Brooke was a rock star and actually slept on the plane---sprawled across our laps.  Bobby and Maddie also napped a little, but Jacob and I pulled an all nighter.  Of course, Jacob fell asleep in the car on the way through Paris and missed the far off view of the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame that had the rest of us squealing with excitement.

Now we are settling into our beautiful house in Marly Le Roi.  This is an old house that has been modernized and the kids had fun choosing their rooms.  The garden is absolutely amazing with beautiful foliage and the back wall is stone and is original to King Louis XIV as this is the area where he had his second home.

So far, the house exchange seems to be going off without a hitch.  The Domages arrived yesterday, went to Dana Point and Target, then the kids relaxed in the spa.  We are pretty jet lagged, but were able to enjoy some wine and cheese in the back yard before falling asleep on the couch.  Now, we are watching the sunset at 10:00 at night and planning a fun day of sightseeing for tomorrow!

Bonne nuit!
